We have started a new wave of testing Pure Sine Wave inverters. This class of inverters will be the smaller 300-600 Watt inverters designed to fit comfortably on a stroller with a battery. Our first until should arrive in two weeks so we can begin the grueling test process. This process includes working in various temperatures and durations typical families will require.
The first unit we will test is the SK350-112 350 from Samlex America. (Note the unit carries the brand "Cotek"). This unit is likely the highest grade inverter we'll see, since it conforms to UL (Underwriters Laboratories) specifications. It's only a 350 Watt but we feel confident it will out perform most competitors. The unit can take an initial surge up to 700 Watts so it should be well equipped to handle the Cough Assist™ Machine startup. The unit itself it fairly small measuring 7.3in x 5.8in x 2.36in (L x W x H). It's a pricey unit though at a retail price of $175 although this comes with cables so you save that expense. Still, we'll see what we can about that price though.
The other unit we will begin testing is the Pro Watt 600 be Xantrex. This is a larger unit measuring 3.5in x 8.7in x 12.2in (L x W x H) although it is a 600 Watt. It does boast a USB port so you can charge your iPhone on the go. This unit retails for around $160 through Amazon and does not come with cables.
